The Ministry of Water Resources and Energy, working closely with Cameroon\u2019s defense and security forces, has intensified its fight against illegal fuel distribution, seizing 1,085 litres of adulterated fuel during a coordinated operation in Yaound\u00e9 and surrounding areas.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In a major effort to safeguard public safety and protect the country\u2019s energy sector, the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy, in collaboration with defense and security forces, conducted a large-scale mission targeting the proliferation of adulterated fuel in Yaound\u00e9 and its environs. The operation, carried out last week, resulted in the seizure of 1,085 litres of fraudulent fuel intended for illegal sale.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Authorities say the crackdown is part of a broader national strategy to combat the dangerous and growing black-market fuel trade, which poses serious risks to consumers, damages vehicle engines, and undermines the formal petroleum supply chain. According to officials, adulterated fuel often mixed with kerosene or other unsafe substances has contributed to numerous mechanical failures and economic losses across the country.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The joint taskforce reportedly targeted known hotspots, roadside vendors, and hidden supply points. Several suspects are currently under investigation, and the seized fuel has been secured as evidence.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
