Strengthening Energy Sovereignty: MINEE Announces Acquisition of Majority Shares in ENEO

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

 

The Minister of Finance and the Minister of Water and Energy inform the national and international public that they have signed the Sale and Purchase Agreement concerning the acquisition of 51% of the Share Capital of Energy of Cameroon (ENEO) detained by the british company ACTIS.

This strategic transaction is aligned with the broader economic policy of the Head of State, His Excellency Paul BIYA, aimed at : (i) strengthening our economic sovereignty, (ii) consolidating national capacities in the electricity sector and (iii) ensuring coherent governance of enterprises deemed to be of strategic interest.

This signing marks the beginning of a new chapter—one of ambition, responsibility, and challenges for ENEO.

We wish to assure all ENEO employees that this acquisition does not alter their rights or responsibilities. The workforce remains at the heart of ENEO’s success, and their dedication, skills, and innovative spirit must continue to drive the company forward and improve the public service of Electricity to all customers.
