The Electricity Sector is responsible for
- the design, formulation and implementation of strategies in the electricity sector
- the promotion of activities in the electricity sector;
- the control of the production, transformation, transmission, distribution, import, export and sale of electricity
- planning and development of electrification, in collaboration with the relevant bodies and institutions;
- the development of technical standards and safety regulations in the electricity sector, in collaboration with the relevant Ministries and bodies;
- checking the conformity of electrical equipment and installations;
- analysis of the technical activity reports of public corporations and publicly owned companies in the electricity sector;
- electricity pricing, in collaboration with the relevant Ministries and bodies.
