2,665 LITRES OF FUEL SEIZED IN MELONG
Melong, Loungahe and surrounding areas have witnessed a joint crackdown on the illicit circulation of petroleum products.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Energy, in collaboration with the Forces of Law and Order, has carried out a control operation in Melong, Loungahe and neighbouring areas, resulting in the seizure of 2,665 litres of petroleum products.
The haul comprised 2,320 litres of gasoil and 345 litres of super petrol. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to curb the illegal trade and distribution of petroleum products and to ensure compliance with regulations governing their storage, transportation and sale.
The joint exercise also seeks to protect consumers and communities from the safety risks associated with the improper handling and storage of highly inflammable products.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Energy, together with the Forces of Law and Order, is expected to sustain such operations as part of measures to sanitize the petroleum products distribution chain and combat fraud across the country.
