Renewable energy

The Renewable Energy sector is responsible for:

• the design, formulation and implementation of policies and strategies in the field of renewable energy and energy management, in collaboration with the administrations and bodies concerned;

• the exploration and inventory of renewable energy resources;

• applied research and technology transfer in the field of renewable energy, in collaboration with the administrations and bodies concerned;

• the promotion, development and dissemination of renewable energies;

• the promotion of energy saving and inter-energy substitution;

• the establishment and promotion of the energy information system;

• defining and monitoring the actions to be carried out in order to consider the management of environmental implications in all major projects in the energy field, in collaboration with the Ministry in charge of the environment and the administrations concerned;

• the application of safety measures in facilities for the production and use of renewable energy.
